Greetings!

Welcome to my blog. My name's Drew Spiller, and I've created this blog as a part of the Technology Tools for Teaching and Learning course at Cal State San Marcos. I'm 22 years old, grew up in Encinitas, CA (just north of San Diego), and attended San Dieguito High School Academy before I went to Cornell University, earning a Bachelor's degree in History. Now, I'm back home, working my way toward a teaching credential.

I had a really positive experience with history as a subject when I was in high school, but when I got to college, I found out that most of my peers did not share my high opinion of the field. Realizing how big of an influence my own history teachers had on me, I realized that I wanted to be able to make the subject that so fascinated me approachable for a new generation  of students. That's why, after I graduated, I came back home and started taking prereqs for a teaching credential. Well, that and my utter disdain for snow and winter weather.

Outside of history and education, my interests include writing fiction (most of which is awful), watching movies, reading, playing video games, playing basketball, hiking, and camping. I am also surprisingly good at Dance Dance Revolution given my utter lack of all physical grace.
